GoAir is one of  the many low cost airlines which has started operation in the last 3 years. I travelled on their flight G8106 on 17 September 2006. They advertise their on time record , but their flights get delayed due to reasons which they can easily control.

The flight was to take off at 15.20 hrs, but when I reached the airport at 14.15 hours, the board showed that security check was on. There is no separate counter for passengers with hand baggage only, so you have to wait for 10-15 minutes, if  the passenger ahead of you has a lot of  baggage to be checked in. The ground staff is otherwise polite

After you complete the security check and go to board the plane from the front entrance (for a seat in the front), the cabin crew tells you to  board from the back entry of  the aircraft.  When you go the back of the aircraft, the cabin crew tells you board from the front of the aircraft. It seems that custom service for GoAir is not about caring for customer convenience but about having mini skirted air hostesses.

Since it was a Sunday, the flight was almost full, but even after the scheduled time, the flight did not take off. Then one by one, women in black T-shirts (WIB) and jeans started boarding the aircraft. There must have been at least 30 such WIB and because of these VVIPs the flight was delayed by approximately 30 minutes. Their E-ticket states that their checkin counters will "close strictly 40 minutes prior to departure" but there are some exceptions. I doubt whether they would have waited for even 5 minutes for ordinary passengers

Since mid August passengers are not allowed to carry any liquid and they provide a complimentary 200 ml bottle of water. But when the bring the water, they only ask " would you like to buy some sandwiches and snacks" and do not give you water unless you ask for it.  There are no newspapers available on the flight unlike other airlines like Jet Airways and Indian Airlines.
